today was True Colours' preview show at rainbow centre..
i sat beside a child today. he is wheelchair bound. he has deformed lips, half grown teeth, twisted limbs and a damaged nervous system. i helped him wipe the saliva that was dripping out from his mouth that couldnt contain it. i think he enjoyed the show cause i could see him moving his limbs in an agitated manner. guess he was excitied!
there were many many such kids around today. a whole hall of them. auntie sophia told me that after seeing these kids.. she is very thankful that he kid although down syndrome but isiznt like any of the kids at rainbow.
i had goosebumps when the show started. (in a good way) haha. as the wheelchair bound kids took centrestage. the whole scene was so poignent when the song went 'reaching out for the sky' and the kids streched out their arms. such a simple move took them weeks of practise to get it which is easily achieved by us in secs. just raise your hand when the song reaches this point. wow. but at the sight of these kids, it was truly amazing that such a simple dance move brought so much meaning and emotions out.
then came one of my most fave item from d'artiste, 'who is my teacher'.. i think the mother and sons (sophia, shiaw lun and xun) really did great.. the little drama never fails to touch me.. "i am the disable child. i m your teacher if you allow me to. i teach you simplicity from your complicated life. i teach you love..."
and of cause there were the dance items which were great. and its really heartening to see the rainbow kids dancing with the d'artistes kids. cause i think charities should be like that. working hand in hand. instead of fighting it out for donations and comparing who is better than the other. they should pool their resources together and achieve the common goal, which is the best for the kids and the needy that their charity is assisting. and shaiw xun seriously improved so much that he is a caliber higher than the rest already. haha. so proud of him! =D
i did qikang's makeup today! so proud of myself too! haha. i can do makeup! =D
after the preview, went to nygh with anh to conduct a lesson for nygh dancers.. lol. i seriously haven been moving for a long time. stiff muscles, dead ligaments and poor groove. lol. it was so embarrassing to lead with all the technical girls around. haha. but but.. i am defintely looking for to the new year eve show that i should be dancing in! lol. hopefully it works out. that will be my first commercial dancing job. commercial dancing leh! how cool is that! lol
alrights. i shall rest and hope for the best for GP mock tomorrow!
and i cant wait to get into theatre on monday for true colours! =D although its like 9 days to A levels then.. i dont think i will be regretting this ba.. hahaha.. cos its like a big party on monday! got my dartiste kids, got some jttw dancers, got ac dancers (past and present), theres dance and theres a show. woah. lol. how can i not be there. lol
random thoughts: i shall set up a school like rainbow next time too! =D
